We take a personal, inside look at different Wing Chun enthusiasts from all corners of the world. Learn the insights, history, training methods and inspiration from the greatest proponents and supporters of Wing Chun. All lineages, any style… simple and effective.
This month, we profile Sifu Jack Leung of Practical Wing Chun. He is the Queensland Chief Instructor and serves as the Regional Director for Wan Kam Leung Practical Wing Chun Kung fu in Australia. Since 1996, he learned the entire system directly from Sifu Wan Kam Leung, in Hong Kong. In 2013, he achieved his full instructor certificates and started teaching. He now runs 5 branches in Queensland, teaches 7 days a week, and travels to Hong Kong every 2 months to regularly train under his Sifu. After 20 years of training under Sifu Wan Kam Leung, Jack has recently received the honor of becoming an indoor disciple.
Sifu Jack Leung gained our attention through his efforts of giving back to local communities. His modern spin on philanthropy sets an example for all practitioners by harnessing The Power of Wing Chun and utilizing it as a vehicle to benefit others. Jack and the group at Practical Wing Chun Australia recently raised over $6,800 for the Leukemia Foundation during their “Greatest Shave” event. By choosing to support a different charity group each month, their desire to spread positive energy is inspiring. View the event video below.
