‘Eternity of Ving Tsun’ by producer/director Liong May-E and her team (full credit to all concerned at the end of the film) from ‘Hanxin College’ in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Created in October/November of 2023 as part of Liong May-E & her team’s university assessment. The film was shot on location at the Kuala Lumpur training venue of ‘WSL Ving Tsun Combat Science (Malaysia)’ and features Principal Instructor, Sifu David Peterson and many of the students currently training at the school. It is posted here with the expressed permission of all concerned.

In 1984, Nino Bernardo set up an infamous word-of-mouth kung fu school in London called the Basement, where he developed a reputation as one of Europe’s most skillful and influential Wing Chun teachers. Sifu Bernardo was also Wong Shun Leung’s senior UK representative until the untimely death of his teacher in 1997.

This video is a look back to Wing Chun from the 1980’s. Filmed by student, Franklyn Riley.

There is plenty to work on individually and is equally important to train one’s skills sets independently as it is with a training partner.

Last year, Sifu Hennings held two successful workshops, one in Lakeland, FL.,and another in Longwood, FL. Building on the two previous Workshops, Sifu Hennings will be covering core concepts, drills and dynamic application of Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun. Chi Sau Attack and Defend Drill Training

Chi Sau is often misunderstood to mean trapping or staying in contact (sticking) with the opponents arms, the actual meaning is to free the arms from obstructions and maintain the attack. In fact Chi Sau is not what we want to happen in self-defense, but if we get blocked out or tangled by the opponent, Chi Sau develops automatic reflexes for getting back to the center-line.

Chi Sau trains you to let the opponent show you how to hit them, it is in actuality fixing a problem of access and not gaining an advantage of control. In Wing Chun we always chase center and never chase hands, Chi Sau should always develop the instinct to chase the center-line and take position.
